We almost have a kitchen! When I got home last night the fitter had built all the cabinetry (including cutting back the depth of the cupboards that span the old fire breast), the range cooker is working (we had already collected a takeaway so I haven’t cooked on it yet!) and the sink is all in position ready to be plumbed today.
Even my husband loves it, his eyes glaze over whenever I show him a piece of graph paper but now he can see where everything is going and what it’s going to look like he’s starting to get excited about it all. Just as I expected though, now he’s seen the oak doors he doesn’t want me to paint them. They’re beautiful but I’ve set my heart on a charcoal grey/almost black painted kitchen. I think I may buy an extra door this weekend and paint it, it’ll be good practice for me and he’ll be able to see what it’ll look like.
