They’re all the rage if you’re after a modern kitchen but handleless kitchens aren’t quite as innovative as you might think. Companies such as EWE and SieMatic have been producing handleless designs since the 60s. Think of your Grandma’s kitchen post 1960 and she probably had a white kitchen with a steel finger pull at the top instead of handles… ring any bells?
Last week I visited the showrooms of EWE in Austria (yes, they were having a heatwave but I WAS working you know) specifically to see their Intuo range. A stunning selection of hi-gloss, matt and beautifully bookmatched veneers, they bring the 50-year-old handleless kitchen bang up-to-date. Outside they’re sleek and sophisticated, inside they’re packed with clever storage from Blum helping to maintain that uncluttered look we all dream about.
I love this gorgeous Space design that combines gloss lacquer with bookmatched wood veneer to create a smart but welcoming open-plan space. Available in the UK from a growing number of kitchen retailers, including Searle & Taylor Kitchens in Winchester.
